We are wrapping up a unit that focuses on identifying the main idea of a text, identifying supporting text details, and making inferences using The Iroquois by Mary Englar. Students were excited to watch a video on the issue of Haudenosaunee passports. We will be reading an article on Haudenosaunee lacrosse players from Albany, NY and comparing this text to The Iroquois. Students will fine tune their writing skills, particularly focusing on complete sentences and quality paragraphs.
