Unatego School
District receives Three Proposals for former Otego Elementary School
The Unatego Board of Education is pleased to announce that
following a Request for Proposals (RFP) to repurpose the former Otego
Elementary School building, they received three viable proposals from potential
developers this week.
A special Board of Education meeting is scheduled for
October 28 at 6:30 PM to allow the three developers an opportunity to present
their plans for the building to the entire board and answer any questions board
members might have. Following that, the
Board will make a decision as to which proposal to accept at their regular
Board meeting scheduled for November 4.
The three proposals are available on the District’s website: www.unatego.org or may be viewed in person at the Unatego
District Office.
Dirig Design
Dirig Design, a ten year old drafting and design firm
located in Wells Bridge, NY, focuses on custom kitchens and millwork. Their proposal envisions a mixed use
residential/commercial building, with a seven year, $750,000 investment plan
resulting in nine apartments and sixteen mixed use commercial spaces when

Granite Data
Solutions
Granite Data Solutions, based in McClellan Park, California,
is an IT service provider. Granite, a
Disabled Veteran-owned Business Enterprise, has been in business for nineteen
years and proposes to renovate the former school to serve as their New
York/East Coast full-service sales and logistics operations center. They focus on hiring disabled and other
veterans and currently employ 35 at their west coast location. See the details here:
Oneonta Christian
Academy
Oneonta Christian, a fixture in Oneonta for thirty-five
years, submitted a proposal to move their private school from their current
location on River Street, Oneonta to the former elementary school in
Otego. Their proposal focuses on
maintaining the structure as an educational institution for their more than 90
students as well as offering any excess space as rentals for area businesses. See the details here:
